The 1999 Genesis Five-Piece Studio Work

The Carpet Crawlers Genesis re-recorded “The Carpet Crawlers” as a five-piece band back in 1999. There’s not much information out there about the sessions for “The Carpet Crawlers 1999,” even though it has such significance in the history of Genesis. Taken from http://ultimateclassicrock.com/genesis-no-reunion-tony-banks/ Peter’s idea was to use [producer] Trevor Horn since he was neutral territory: None of us had ever worked with him. 3 Reasons Peter Gabriel is a Time Lord

1. There is a Tardis Outside Real World Studios I don’t think it’s any coincidence that there is a Police Box parked on the main road on the way into Box village, UK (Home of Real World Studios)  2. He Used to Wear a Time Lord Costume With the long cape around its shoulders and the bat wings attached to the sides of its head, the alien looked remarkably like a Time Lord in full ceremonial regalia. Of course, the…

Talking Drum (the Star of Black Panther)

Talking Drum Back in 1999 I visited Nigeria, West Africa. One of the many souvenirs I picked up was a talking drum. This is an hourglass-shaped drum known as a Dundun or Gangan by the Yoruba people. Lego Minifigures Featured On Peter Gabriel’s Website

In the Beginning In 2014 I designed and created the classic bat-wings costume and but it on my personal blog and Instagram page. Later on in the year, Real World Records expressed interest in the flower-mask and bat-wings via email. Peter Gabriel wanted them for his personal archive. I was so totally blown away by this amazing recognition from the man himself, that I continued to design and build a further 12 costumes. Knowing that Peter Gabriel loved the mashup,…
